Terms of Service - Shirah Authentication Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Shirah Authentication Service ("Service"), operated by Shirah Technologies ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including developers, end-users, and organizations that integrate with or use authentication services provided through the Shirah.co platform ecosystem.

2. Description of Service

The Shirah Authentication Service is a centralized microservice that provides:

User Authentication: Secure login and registration functionality
JWT Token Management: Token generation, validation, and refresh capabilities
Service Key Authentication: API key-based authentication for service-to-service communication
Landing Pages: Hosted authentication flows with callback management
Session Management: Secure session handling across Shirah platform services

The Service acts as the central authentication authority for all Shirah.co platform applications including Portify, Pathway, Studendly, and Mploynow.

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

Providing accurate and up-to-date information during registration
Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
Taking responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

3.2 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

3.3 Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

Violation of these Terms
Suspicious or fraudulent activity
Security breaches or attempted unauthorized access
Extended periods of inactivity

4. Acceptable Use Policy

Violate any applicable laws or regulations

4.3 Rate Limits and Usage

The Service implements rate limiting to ensure fair usage and system stability. Excessive use that impacts service performance may result in temporary or permanent restrictions.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

By using the Service, you consent to:

6. Intellectual Property Rights

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms. This license automatically terminates if you violate any of these Terms.

6.3 User Data

You retain ownership of any data you provide to the Service. However, by using the Service, you grant us the necessary rights to process, store, and transmit your data as required for service operation.

7. Service Availability and Modifications

7.1 Service Availability

We strive to maintain high service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to:

Scheduled maintenance and updates
Emergency security patches
Technical difficulties or system failures
Force majeure events beyond our control

7.2 Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that may affect your use of the Service.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHIRAH TECHNOLOGIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
Service interruptions or security breaches
Third-party actions or content

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU (IF ANY) FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shirah Technologies and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from:

Your use of the Service
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any rights of another party
Your violation of applicable laws or regulations

10. Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time:

By You: By discontinuing use of the Service and deleting your account
By Us: For any reason, with or without cause, with reasonable notice when practical

Upon termination:

Your right to access the Service will cease immediately
Your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy
Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Shirah Technologies is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through:
